Well worth a visit

West Byfleet Golf Club is an archetypal Surrey layout that finds a great balance between scorability and difficulty. The out-and-back track features a number of short but narrow holes, particularly on the front nine, where you can score well if you're keeping your ball in the fairway. The bunkering is excellent and the course is always presented in good condition. Highlights include the par-5 7th - a narrow, slanted hole with a swale short of the green - and the par-3 13th, which plays downhill and over the course's only pond.
Always well conditioned

I've rarely experienced West Byfleet in bad condition. Not the longest course in the world, with several drivable par-4 holes and reachable par-5s for the better player. The greens are very true and the bunkers are also well presented. The first cut of rough is usually down, but lots of mature trees sit tight to the fairways on many holes. An enjoyable test, but you should score well if you're on your game.
