Old

History buffs, this is a must. Musselburgh Links is the world's oldest golf course, as it is documented to have been played in 1672, and was probably also played by Mary Queen of Scots more than a hundred years prior to that. It's really not much of a course, as it's now nine holes on a completely flat area that is completely surrounded by a horse race track. But if you rent hickory clubs available in the pro shop, you can have an entertaining day, and can afterwards brag that you've played the oldest golf course still in existence.
Unique and wonderful experience

This quirky 9-holer, one of the oldest courses in the world, is a unique and memorable experience. A lot of fun, and great value. Be sure to drop in for a pint at Mrs. Forman's afterward.

The oldest known course in the world! Its inside a Horse Race track. The holes are rather short but the experience is even better when renting a set of Hickory clubs with the starter and play the course.
