Serpentine and more

Murcar is the property directly to the north of Royal Aberdeen. The two courses are very similar - winding through tall and grassy dunes that make for such a stunning setting. Murcar is shorter, and probably offers a more enjoyable game for the average golfer (par 71, at 6516 yards from the tips, it's not as difficult as Royal Aberdeen). Like its royal sibling, it has some fairways that look like a series of moguls, where you can never get a flat stance. When I played the 7th hole, aptly named 'Serpentine', as I took my awkward stance in the middle of the fairway, I jokingly called the cut area the 'unfairway.'
