Finish with an Albatross
01.05.2016
Built by the legendary JH Taylor and KG Hawtree in 1924, this lovely parkland course has witness some amazing feats. In 1954, the new professional, Bobby McLean, presumably anxious to impress his new employers, went out in 29 and came back in 31 to record an astonishing 60! Not to be outdone, a more recent of the club's professionals, Mike Andrews, finished off a round a few years ago in the most spectacular way by holing his tee-shot on the 323-yard, par four 18th to record a very rare albatross. Blessed with plenty of elevations, mature trees lining the fairways and a stream through the middle that comes into play on six holes and helps the drainage, Higwoods is as perfect a parkland course as you'll find anywhere.

Der Platz ist schön gelegen und umgeben von alten Bäumen. Die Fairways sind breit und in gutem Zustand. Die Greens sind von höchster Qualität.
