Refreshingly Unpretentious
01.05.2016
Originally only nine holes, the course was expanded to 18 in 1924 by the legendary James Braid. Despite its illustrious designer and impeccable credentials, the club is refreshingly unpretentious about its delightfully pretty course. A gently undulating parkland course, it's neither too long not frighteningly tight. With a mix of deciduous and coniferous trees lining the fairways, the holes are extremely well defined with what few hazards there are clearly visible. The 200-year-old dining room might be one of the earliest barn conversions in the country!
