Superb

The Downs is a lovely golf course with sweeping views. The par-4 2nd is the first real indicator of the quality of the course, with the green some 100 yards below the level of the fairway. From there, the holes twist and turn through mature trees and over downland. Goodwood is a great venue for a stay-and-play break.
Good finish

The finishing holes occupy the same patch of land as the first few holes, with the 17th over a lake and the 18th as a classic tree lined parkland test back to the Kennels. Sublime views throughout and a variety of parkland and wide open downland.
Glorious Goodwood

Views are a vital element in golf and you would struggle to find any better than those that can be enjoyed high up on Goodwood's spectacular Downs course. Across the coastal plain, over Chichester Cathedral, out to the Isle of Wight and beyond to the English Channel, they are among the best you will encounter anywhere. Originally designed by five-time Open champion James Braid early in the last century, the course is a cracker. The club is right next door to the famous Goodwood horse racing track and so try and fix a game on a racing day and you might come home with a profit!
