Grampian mystique

Unique setting, with the Grampians looming in the distance. Course from 1895, redesigned by James Braid in the 1930s, but the members refused to change the final three holes as he had instructed. They stood their ground. Nobody blames them, really... very fun course. Par 3 Majuba is the most famous, uphill to a raised green. Great experience.
Parkland and Heathland Combined
13.05.2016
Yet another gem that James Braid has had a hand in. In 1933 he made some alterations to the original design and very little has changed since. And very little should be changed to a course that is simply magnificent. Although it is stretched across 128 acres of the most attractive parkland, it would not be entirely accurate to describe it as a parkland course as there are stretches that have a distinctly heathland feel. Towering conifers help provide clear definition. A river, a road and a disused railway line add to the interest and place an even greater emphasis on accuracy. With luck you should spot a deer or two.
