The Mysterious Case of the Magnificent Course
28.04.2016
A regular in lists of England's top 100 courses and designed by the legendary architect Alister MacKenzie, Crowborough Beacon is superb. The clubhouse is over 250 metres above sea level and the view from the first tee is worth the green fee on its own. A true heathland course, it's delightfully natural. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who of course created Sherlock Holmes, was captain here in 1910.
