A Lovely Links
01.05.2016
Not only is Littlehampton the oldest club in West Sussex, it's also boasts the only links course in the county. Squeezed between the beach and the River Arun, it has been providing glorious golf amidst the dunes for around 130 years. A 'rife', which is a Sussex name for a drainage ditch, weaves its way around, comes into play on no fewer than six holes and helps carry the water away so that the course is perfectly playable all the year round. Rather scarred by military manoeuvres during the war, it suffered again when its wonderful old clubhouse was burnt down in 1985. The handsome replacement enjoys the same stunning views over the English Channel.
