Barry Burn meets Ben Hogan
13.04.2017
Carnoustie deserves a pilgrimage. There are two great personalities you get to know at Carnoustie: Ben Hogan and Barry Burn. Hogan won the Open Championship here, at a course that is known to be the most difficult on the Open rota. The Barry Burn stopped Jean van de Velde from lifting the Claret Jug, and it's in play and dangerous on several holes. Somes of the holes don't feel like links, as the sea is nowhere to be seen or heard, and you're playing alongside a forest. But every hole plays exactly like a links, giving you a combination of firm, fast-running fairways, pot bunkers and greens that call for bump and run shots rather than target golf.
The Links course

One of the most known courses in Scotland it is the links course of all time. The course itself is either loved or hated because it's difficulty, but nonetheless it's beautiful. Of course you need to be really cautious when it comes to choosing clubs and hope you hit it straight as obstacles are everywhere! Lovely clubhouse
Fantastic links course

Carnoustie is a classic links course where you have to face pot bunkers, high thick rough and strong wind. The holes are perfectly shaped around the coast and you have great view on the sea at some holes. Definitely a course you should play when you have a chance. Very accurate shots no matter if it is a tee shot or a green shot are necessary and due to the hard fairways you need to judge the roll out of the ball well.
Outstanding, tough

Incredibly tough links track - much to do with the snaking Barry Burn featuring five times on the last two holes. Not the most scenic course but it's long, testing and owns many fearsome, well-plotted bunkers. A fair test, however.
Tough breeze

It is an absolutely nice course! Very challenging links course especially the last 3 holes as the little water hazard crosses the fairway a couple of times. You need to pay attention to the yardages as well as choosing the right club. The clubhouse is charming with beautiful views on the course! It also has a hotel which overlooks the course.

Wind ahoi

Top Pro-Shop mit allem was man braucht💪
Ein richtiger Test

Je nach Eind wird für ein 150 Meter Schlag ein PW oder ein Eisen 4 benötigt.. Dieser Platz ist ein Test bei Wind
